Review
A troubled teenage girl goes to a boarding school / treatment facility. There she meets a guy who seems familiar to her. He and a bunch of other strange kids turn out to be fallen angels which will be explained in detail in the classroom.Comparisons to Twilight are inevitable but there is much less in Fallen than in the first Twilight movie in terms of plot. The dark haired girl and her other worldly hero played by a British actor rescuing her are familiar and it's okay to reuse the formula since it works. Here the difference is it's angels instead of vampires and there is reincarnation theme shown in rather frustrating flashbacks. But things end just when the plot starts to go somewhere.
The trend of spreading out YA fiction movies into three or more movies when the story is so thin to begin is a bad idea. Who can be bothered to wait several years for a romance like this to conclude? I felt like shouting hurry up many times.
The cast is attractive. Addison Timlin as Lucinda is pretty but she doesn't have that special something like K Stew had . She has the appeal of a supporting character rather than a main love interest. Jeremy Irvine plays Grigori. He is quite a likable actor with an impressive bunch of movies before like War Horse and Great Expectations. But here he is made to behave in a rather insipid manner and his passion is unconvincing. Harrison Gilbertson doesn't look as strange as in previous movies though he lacks a dangerous element to be the bad boy - kind of insipid.
There are some good points. The institution is picturesque and Gothic and spooky. The filming is beautifully done with the wings etc.
If this movie doesn't do well in the box office and they don't make a sequel I would have wasted a couple of hours watching this.
I went to the cinema with no big expectation about how good this gonna be. Tbh, this film didn't get a good review in my country, same as the other countries's movie reviewers. This didn't get much attention for a movie goers, so here is my review about Fallen :
I have read the book, it was fine. But that's it, nothing more than the "fine" word to describe it. I think there's too much descriptive about the S&C Gothic aura, and too fast for the ending of the first book. Same thing happens to the movie. But, I think the movie is better than the book (since I don't like the plot on the book, too slow). In the movie you can see how dynamic Luce is, not too passive as she is in the book. But, too bad for the other characters that should be more involved in the storyline. They have more potential to make the story more attractive and interesting. As a filmgoers, I think they're too focus on Luce and Daniel's past without considering the other characters. I mean, Gabbe, Arriane, Molly, and Rolland didn't get much plot for develop their characters and they looked like only as a extra-role. Even though, we knew those character in the book have a lot of part.
P.S : I think the main problem is the distributors which not-so-active promoting the film, plus I just think Jeremy Irvine failed to catch an attractiveness to young girls or even Daniel's character as he is described in the book.
But, plus thing is : I love the song on the bon fire party, and still looking for the tracklist of it. It's really catchy, seriously.

Sorry for the redundant, i have nothing else to write about this movie. Very disappointed.
It was just. HORRIBLE. God I wish I had never watched it. I know it's just based on the novel so it's not really supposed to come out as exactly the same but why the H did they not just do THAT? This movie is like it was made by a bunch of high school students with access to great equipment and professional cameramen. SERIOUSLY. The mysterious camera zooming in/out thing was good in the beginning, but why in the world would you be consistent with the movie looking like a 2-hour- long trailer? PLUS they didn't even SHOW the BEST THING about this novel, WHICH IS the inevitable chemistry of Lucinda and Daniel! That moment? In the novel? When Daniel told Luce whatever secret he had been hiding the whole time? Dude, that was ENCHANTING! And they didn't even at least just save THAT! I don't even know why they didn't slap in the "white peonies" thing which was a big "A" supposed-to-be scene for me and I don't think I want to know. If you watch it, be ready to watch the most emo-sh*t movie you'll ever watch.
P.S. OTHER GUY IS *NOT* SUPPOSED TO BE THAT IN LOVE WITH LUCE AND SHE NEVER (EVER) WANTED TO GO WITH HIM (Geez).
